Exciting news! Planning consent granted - work will start in early 2022
Exciting news! Planning consent has been granted for the proposals to improve the area around the North Car Park.
The Council is now putting the construction works out to tender. The aim is then for the appointed contractor to start construction on site early in 2022. Construction is anticipated to be completed in Summer 2022.

By way of a reminder, the proposals include:
- Public realm improvements to spaces associated with the two community halls and along the waterfront with associated tree planting, seating and cycle racks.
- Reorganising the car park to free up space and create better links between waterfront and town.
- Relocation of the bus stop to create space for an improved and safer crossing point over the A83.
The planning application documents on the Council website contain a "Design and Access Statement" which explains the proposals and how they have been developed. The proposals take account of comments received during previous consultations over the year or so. Thank you, everyone who has contributed.
