What people said in September 2019
You can see the proposals that were put forward for public consultation in September 2019 by clicking here.
21 people responded to the consultation on those proposals.
When asked what they liked about the proposals, the most popular things were:
- The proposals for the landscaped areas, green spaces and tree (7 people)
- The pedestrian crossing (5 people) - but 3 other people didn’t like it; see below
- Moving the bus stop (3 people)
When asked what they didn’t like about the proposals, the only concern raised by more than one person was the position of the proposed pedestrian crossing and zigzag lines by the shops - because of the likely impact on shop turnover, and even viability, from vehicles being prevented from parking directly outside the shops. 5 people raised this concern.
When asked whether the proposals would be good for the community, 13 respondents said yes, 3 said ‘partly’ and 2 said no.
The survey also asked if there is anything missing from the proposals. This led to a range of useful comments, with no particular common themes.
